Cellist Isaac Melamed is currently a senior at UCLA, studying with
Antonio Lysy and pursuing a music degree in cello performance and
education. Isaac placed second in the 2006 Atwater Kent Strings Concerto
Competition, and in 2007 won the opportunity to play the Haydn Sinfonia
concertante with the UCLA Symphony Orchestra. In January, Isaac was
featured on Sundays Live through KMozart in an all-Bach concert with
his teacher, Mr. Lysy. Isaac is a founding member of the Palomino
Clarinet trio, which advanced to the finals of the Coleman and Plowman
national chamber music competitions in 2007. Isaac is a member of the
American Youth Symphony as well as principal cellist of the UCLA
Philharmonia Ochestra.
