Original Founders
The Anna and Harry Borun Foundation Faramarz & Afsaneh Yousefzadeh
Become one of our first major donors and have your name associated with the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra in perpetuity! Over 50 schools, public and private, are represented in the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, making it truly a unique institution in this city. The majority of our students are not "conservatory bound," but bright highly-motivated young artists who enjoy music as part of their other interests in science, history, literature, and other arts. They span the socio-economic, cultural, and religious gamut of our city. Funding cuts in many other school music programs make our orchestra an increasingly important musical outlet for them. The Original Founder campaign secures the future of the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra for the critical transition years while we secure a permanent endowment. Original Founders commit to $25,000 a year for three years ($75,000 total). For their visionary support of an organization that is rapidly becoming one of the most important ensembles for young musicians in the city, Original Founders will be associated with the orchestra in perpetuity, named in all LA Youth Orchestra programs and LA Youth Orchestra letterhead. In just a short number of years, the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra has achieved prominence to be named a Youth Orchestra Partner with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, including a performance in Walt Disney Concert Hall November 11, 2007. The UCLA Department of Music also plans a collaboration with the orchestra in the spring of 2008 in UCLA's Schoenberg Hall.
